Brew and a Break

Gather your family, friends, colleagues, school or community to take a break and enjoy a cuppa and a piece of cake - all while raising money for Family Fund.

Bring people together for the chance to connect and have a well-earned rest or chat. Put the kettle on and take a moment to raise vital funds for families raising disable children.

Turn your break into theirs. What your brew could do:

£25 could pay for a disabled child to attend an inclusive Saturday morning coding club, giving stretched parents an hour’s break.

£50 could go towards play equipment for a seriously ill child, giving them quality garden time and a break from being indoors.

Be the perfect host and do things your way, or use one of these ideas as a starting point…

Invite your street

Show that you’re the heart of the community by inviting neighbours and friends’ round to yours for a brew. Ask for donations in return for drinks and sweet treats. You can even ask them to bake a cake beforehand.

Bake swap!

Choose your best bakers and get tasting. Everyone bakes a cake and gathers. Charge a one-off donation and taste everyone’s bakes…you can even make it into a competition.

Breaks at work

Invite your colleagues to take a ‘brew and a break’ at work once a month. Take it in turns to organise a monthly break at work that encourages donations for snacks. Everyone needs a break from the desk, just make sure it’s a tasty one! Cakes left over? Tour them round the office and offer your very own takeaway treat service.

School baking fun

Make it part of the school week to bake cakes or ask parents to send goodies in with the kids. Set a date for the children to host their own cake sale and encourage donations from school mates, teachers and parents.
